One evening a week, the baking finishes early and the chairs come out. People arrive. Some know each other, some don't yet. There's chai, there's whatever didn't sell, and there's a couple of hours where nobody needs anything from you.

No theme. No speaker. No fee.
What it is
A room with people in it — that's the honest description. Conversation goes where it goes: work, children, books, grief, recipes, faith, nothing at all. Nobody chairs it. Nobody presents anything.
What it isn't
Not a class, not a networking evening, not a soft sell for the bakery. There's no fee and nothing to buy.
Why "circles in the sand"
Because a circle drawn in sand isn't permanent and doesn't need to be. It holds for as long as people are sitting in it, and you can draw it again next week.
If it's your first time
Come anyway. Sit near the door if that's easier. Most people who come alone the first time don't the second.
Bring something or don't
Both are normal. Nobody counts.
